The most powerful leaders i know do this

Woman looking at a window, the most powerful leaders I know don't do it all. They know what's worth their time.

Executives know what their time is worth, and what isn’t worth their time.

Lately, I’ve been working with more executives — and there’s a pattern I can’t ignore:

They pay for help.

Not just for the time savings, but for the leverage.

It’s not about what they could do themselves. It’s about what their time is worth and where it creates the biggest outcomes. High-leverage work stays on their plate. Everything else gets delegated to the best person for it.

When I supported an executive team on a large company event, they brought in outside consultants to refine every presentation. Not to “make slides,” but to pull out the stories so each session connected.

The Result?

A clear throughline. An engaged audience. A team that landed the message.

That conversation came back to me over coffee with an old friend last week. We were talking leadership and delegation when this line hit home:

“If you can delegate it as a leader, it’s irresponsible to do it yourself. Your monetary value belongs in your expertise.”

Or as the saying goes: you can do anything, but you can’t do everything.

The Lesson I Had to Learn (the Hard Way)

For years, I tried to get in shape on my own.
I read the articles, put in the reps, made it routine, watched what I ate...

And sure, I made some progress. But it was slow, inconsistent, and never quite clicked the way I wanted it to.

The only thing I regret about getting in shape? Trying to figure it out myself first.

When I finally decided to invest in an expert — someone with a proven framework who knew exactly how to guide me — everything changed. I started seeing results faster, with more energy and less frustration.

Looking back, I realized I could have saved years of spinning my wheels if I’d just asked for help sooner.

That’s the power of the right support at the right time.

Leverage Isn’t Laziness. It’s Leadership

Whether it’s fitness, business, or brand building, the biggest leaps usually come from investing in the right help.

Because it’s not about doing less, it’s about doing what matters most.

Bring in the experts. Let your team’s strengths rise.
And if someone’s better than you at it — good. That’s why they’re there.

So, if you’ve been wondering, “What would shift if I had the help I actually need?” — you might be closer than you think.
